Denver limousines have no problem driving in the shadow of skyscrapers, and Denver taxis risk their lives sometimes getting from the Denver airport back downtown. Recently, most of the Denver transportation services have been the commuters for business travelers, but there is still plenty to do in Denver that still attracts the younger crowd as well.
While Denver's fast-growing central core is not exactly Manhattan, more vacationing families are discovering that it's still a magical kingdom of sorts--even without the major subway systems. Travelers need only to get a Denver shuttle service to transport them from the Denver airport to downtown, and in one small commute, (Rocky) mountains of entertainment can be had. From any of the Denver downtown hotels, a Denver transportation service is available to offer the short ride to many of the attractions of the Mile High City.
The lively 16th Street Mall, several blocks and a short Denver taxi ride from the major hotels, is the spine of booming downtown Denver, the nation's 10th largest downtown. Horse carriages and free Denver shuttle and Denver buses are the only traffic allowed on this mile-long, banner-festooned pedestrian strip mall lined with fountains and flowers, trees and benches. From a sidewalk café, the parade of people--conventioneers, tattooed teenagers, and stroller-pushing parents can be seen. Street performers add to the festivity. The café's line the streets, so it is easy to hail a Denver taxi at any point.
Anchoring the uptown end of 16th Street Mall, which any Denver transportation service can provide a ride to, is the hip Denver Pavilions complex, with its clubs, movie theaters, courtyard concerts, and stores like Virgin Megastore and NikeTown. A short Denver taxi ride north toward the river leads to the enclosed, two-block-long Shops at Tabor Center and the art galleries, jazz clubs, and brew pubs of LoDo, lower downtown's old warehouse district that has blossomed since 1995, when the Colorado Rockies started playing baseball at Coors Field. Limo rentals have thrived in Denver because of the famous Colorado Rockies. Many limousine transportation services have been providing rides to die-hard fans, and drunks alike.
After a Denver shuttle ride from the hotel to the ball park, people often like to go up into the famous row of seats that mark the actual "mile-high" point. For the ones that have kids and took the limo services in Denver for the thrill, Coors Field has a family seating section where no alcohol is served; booster seats are also available. There's a playground next to the kid-friendly Buckaroos gift shop and food stand. Guided tours of the park feature the Rockies dugout, visitors' clubhouse, and high-rent suites. It makes the limo transportation that much more worth it.
Someone could also take a Denver shuttle down near the South Platte River and Elitch Gardens where the Pepsi Center is located, home since 1999 of pro hockey's Colorado Avalanche and basketball's Denver Nuggets. A football stadium for the Denver Broncos is taking shape along the river, and is easy to reach with any form of Denver transportation.
