Despite the number of modes of transportation in Denver, the top means of getting around are still Denver cars. Parking is never a huge problem, unless there is a blizzard or a special event going on. Most people intending to stay in town more than a few days should think about renting a Denver car rental. It is convenient, and will save money on taxi fares. Otherwise, there are a number of other Denver transportation options that a person can consider. Still, Denver cars remain the most common source of transportation for people traveling in and out of Denver. Most people traveling into Denver on business are coming from the Denver airport and have already booked with a Denver airport transportation service. Because most of the traffic through Denver is business, the Denver airport has been more accommodating in specific business Denver transportation services. Once in downtown, however, there is much more to do besides business meetings and conventions, like shopping and eating.
There is a mall and shopping center in the center of the Denver metro area. The16th Street Mall shuttle has free Denver buses that run up and down the street, making it easy and convenient to get around the area. Just outside of downtown Denver, there are a number of restaurants that people like to visit. These restaurants will be less crowded, and probably more affordable, and are no more than a short Denver taxi ride away. Getting around Denver is easy to do, and there are a number of Denver transportation services that can make the trip worry-free.
Most people looking for a bargain, like to stay just outside of Denver, and then take short Denver taxi rides into downtown. Depending on where the person decides to stay, the Denver taxi ride could be fairly cheap, or more expensive. Other than a Denver car rental, the only economical transportation option between most of the cities outside the Denver metro area and Denver itself, are Denver buses, which limit flexibility and wastes precious vacation time, as a Denver taxi would be the best option, despite the fares. Those who live where public transportation is abundant and never use Denver cars might find the public transportation system in Denver intolerable due to its limited schedule and routing.
Anyone planning on going sightseeing or planning a trip to see the mountains should try and get their own Denver car rental, since they will have the most options, and will save a buck or two as compared to a Denver shuttle service. While the most interesting parts of town are within a relatively small area, driving is still the most efficient way to get around. Compared to other big cities, parking is not yet too much of a problem here. So, while that stays true, Denver cars are a good choice for the increased flexibility. Denver taxis are expensive and the bus system is somewhat limited to be very practical (or tolerable) for those with a choice. Also keep in mind that because Denver is such a car town, a Denver taxi is generally not as available as readily. Parking at any of the Denver downtown hotels will run close to $20 a day. That's expensive, but there are alternatives. If someone has a Denver car rental, they could easily find a parking lot/garage that allows overnight parking for less than what the hotel would charge.
